HID Installation Guide

A. GENERAL:

Read this manual in detail before installing or using the HID system to ensure 100% performance. If you are not equipped with the knowledge of HIDs or car electrical systems, please ask a store or garage qualified technician for assistance to avoid incorrect installation.

Our HID conversion kit is designed to replace 12v automotive or 24v truck halogen bulbs. HID service life (approximate 2000hrs –3000hrs) is almost 5-6 times longer than a conventional halogen bulb and the output is more than 3 times the brightness of a 55w halogen bulb with lower power consumption.

B. PRECAUTIONS:

1. Ensure the electrical system of the automobile is completely disconnected from the battery before  handling or installing the HID conversion kit.

2. Problems and defects arising from incorrect installation or use are not covered within warranty. Always ensure proper installation and care in handling.

3. The rated current of this HID is 3.2A ; rated voltage is 12v (or 24V); rated power is 35w (or 50w).

4. During startup operation (in lighting), this product will produce 23kv of high voltage,

5. If you discover any damage or defect on the HID bulb, ballast or cord, stop further installation as it might cause burns or accidents by electric shock.

6. Do not drop or apply unreasonable force to the bulb or move this equipment by holding the connector or harness. Never touch or scratch the bulb. Also do not remove oil with alcohol when you touch the bulb during operating, as it might damage the system, reduce the life span of the bulbs and affect overall performance.

7. Do not use wet hands or oil-stained hands when installing or inspecting the HID system as it might cause burns or injury by electric shock.

8. Contamination can degrade performance or cause premature failures. If necessary, clean the bulb by wiping with a lint free towel.

9. Tighten connectors. Loose connectors might create electrical discharges, which may provide causes for smoke or fire.

10. Check the shape of the hook and the direction of the bulb prior to mounting the bulb so that the bulb can be mounted in normal condition.

11. The silicone wire supplies high voltage and can not be worn, over torn or twisted.

12. Do not disassemble the starter or ballast. Tampering will void the warranty.

C. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1.        Check Lamp Operation Prior to Installation

Assemble the components of the kit then connect the ballast directly to the car battery or a similar power source.  Check to see if the lamp can be lighted. This is important to ensure the HID is operating properly before installation.

2.        Check Components

Check all the necessary components of the package prior to installation.

Installation Procedure

Install with care to prevent any serious damage.

1)      Open the conversion kit box and familiarize with the necessary components and ASSEMBLY DIAGRAM below. Plan where the ballast should be mounted.

2)      Disconnect the vehicle battery

3)      Disassemble the vehicle headlamp and all related accessory lamps or covers where necessary to obtain access to the bulb and sufficient space to install the HID system.

4)      Open the rear cover of the lamp and remove the halogen bulb.

5)      Drill a 25 or 32mm hole at an appropriate location in the rear cover of the lamp. The HID globe wiring will pass through this hole, so ensure there is sufficient space on either side of this hole for the wiring to pass without jamming or kinking when the lamp is reinstalled.

6)      Mount the HID globe in the globe holder. Double check that the globe is secure and that any mounting spring are clipped correctly.

7)      Connect the spade terminals to the wiring harness that was originally

connected to the halogen globe. Pass all of the wires from the globe

through the 25 or 35mm hole in the rear cover and seal with the grommet.

8)      Install the ballast in the vehicle structure, preferably on metal.

9)      Install the ballast in the vehicle wiring harness, fix by tape or tie wrap.

10)  Replace the lamp fuse with 20 amp fuse. Reconnect the battery and test all systems. Correct lamp alignment should be checked once the installation is completed, if the focus is not perfect, adjust the headlight in the car.

n        Installation Notes and Warnings:

2        Ensure that the ballast is securely attached to a steady mounting point, preferably metal.

2        Incorrect polarity can damage the HID, double check that the red lead is connected to (+) and the black lead to (-) before reconnecting the battery.

2        Check all connections are secure. High resistance in the wiring or connections will cause the system to malfunction.

2        If the vehicle wiring is old or is of insufficient capacity it may be necessary to install a relay to ensure that enough voltage is available to start the HID globe.

2        If the system fails to operate as expected, verify correct wiring , secure connections, fuse and damage to ballast cables.

2        Keep the lamp lens clean and free of obstructions. Obstructing materials may cause overheating of the globe or excess glare for on-coming motorists.

2        Do not disassemble the ballast or wire harness. There is a risk of electric shock or burning and doing so will void the warranty.

2        Do not carry out installation with power connected. Wear gloves to reduce the risk of burns/electric shock..

2        Do not touch xenon bulb when it is lighting to avoid hurt by high temperature and do not gaze at the xenon light as it discomfort your eyes.
